EGRESSUS - A Horror short film by Mario Velardo
12 mins
Story: Egressus Is a short film 0 budget. A young man awakens in a colorless hell, relentlessly hunted by a taunting, female-like infernal entity. He desperately attempts to escape towards a pseudo-escape route, but finds himself confronted not only by the infernal entity, who always manages to reach him, but also by the soul of a woman (perhaps his own), whom he very likely murdered. It's also revealed that he's forced to desperately defend himself with the very weapon he used to commit the femicide. In his desperate attempt to navigate this increasingly claustrophobic hybrid of Dantean and Lovecraftian horror, the young man's escape culminates at the threshold of his own tombstone. He is ultimately recaptured by the infernal entity and dragged back to pay for his guilt, unable to return. A contemporary theme is thus recounted through an atypical, supernatural genre, where the protagonist's guilt, by the law of talion, boomerangs back against him. Director - Mario Velardo
